Are you great with people and looking for a construction-based apprenticeship? Halton Housing have an exciting opportunity for a Plastering Apprentice to join our vibrant organisation. Working with skilled tradespeople in our Repairs and Maintenance Teams, you'll master a variety of plastering tasks, providing an excellent service to our customers.
As a Plasterer Apprentice you will play an active role working alongside and supporting the Repairs & Maintenance team, getting hands-on experience. You will gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What You’ll Do:
Assist our technicians in all aspects of work including; repair work, void refurbishments, damp remediation, kitchen/bathroom upgrades, and ceiling repairs.
Ensure that a high standard of customer service is delivered at all times.
Follow safe and reasonable methods of work at all times, utilising tools and technology provided, ensuring processes and procedures are followed at all times
Fully engage with all learning and development activities, with 100% college attendance, completing all portfolios, coursework, tests and examinations.
Promote and represent Halton Housing positively with customers, colleagues and external agencies and partners
You’ll attend College one day a week and work with our experienced team members for the remainder of the work week, putting your learning into practice.
You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in different tasks and activities that all contribute to us successfully delivering our repairs and maintenance programmes and meeting our regulatory standards as a social housing provider.

What You’ll Need:
Plastering is a physical role requiring good physical fitness, with the ability to work at heights (scaffolding, ladders). Applicants need to be comfortable with bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods with good hand-eye coordination and dexterity. Applicants should possess/be working towards holding a Full UK Driving License.

What You’ll Get:
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with St Helen’s College. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
You will study at St Helens College to gain a Level 2 Plastering apprenticeship qualification.
The apprenticeship will last for up to 24 months and require you to attend college in person one day a week. The remaining four days will be spent working with our experienced tradespeople applying the practical skills to tasks and activities within our homes.
Interview Date: Tuesday 29th July
Assessment Day Date: Friday 8th August
